CONNECTING UP THE TWO MANHOLES

If water is still flowing down the sewer, the easiest way to connect the 2 Manholes is to float a lightweight Rope down from the Up Stream Manhole to the Down Stream Manhole. The Rope is secured at the Down Stream Manhole, and pulled up onto the Road Surface so that there is now a connection between the 2 Manholes

If the sewer is blocked, Horobin Steel Rods are recommended. The lightweight rope is tied to the end of the Lead Rod, and then the rods are pushed from one Manhole to the other. It does not matter which end you start. This method often results in partial release of the blockage and will make it easier to clear the Sewer

USING THE TOOLS

The Tools are dragged from the Up Stream Winch down towards the Down Stream Winch. If the Sewer is heavily clogged, the Tools will have to be pulled backwards and forwards several times to loosen the Debris. The Tools are designed to rotate as they progress down the Sewer aiding the break-up of Debris.

SAND CONE - Used to break up sand deposits laying along the bottom of the Sewer.
SCALE BREAKER - Used to break up hard scale and deposits caused by detergents and chemical effluents in the Sewer.
DROP SCRAPER - Used to break up hard sand deposits laying along the bottom of the Sewer.
DIAMOND DEVIL - Used to break up silt and genteel deposits in the Sewer
CONE DEVIL - Used to break up hard deposits in the Sewer
TWIST DEVIL - Used to break up sand deposits in the Sewer
FIBRE ROOT DEVIL - Used to cut and break up fibrous roots which have grown through the joints in the Sewer.
RUBBER PLUNGER/SQUEEGEE - Used to clean the Sewer Walls after all the deposits and sand have been removed.
DRAG LINE BRUSH - Used to sweep the Sewer clean of any Soft Sand deposits.
SAND BUCKET - Used to remove sand and silt deposits from the sewer after they have been loosened and broken up by Devils etc
